Unity Health Care Announces Its 2018 Ladies Choice Award Honoree
Washington, D.C. – April 17, 2018 – Unity Health Care (Unity) is proud to announce Delia Gonçalves, WUSA9 Reporter, with the 2018 Ladies Choice award for her commitment to improving the lives of women and families in the District. The Ladies Choice event began in 2017 to benefit women’s health services at Unity. Nearly 50,000 District women seek medical and social services annually from Unity locations.
The Ladies Choice Award is a distinguished honor given to women who are committed to improving the lives of District residents through time, service, and advocacy for vulnerable populations.
“We are thrilled to honor Delia Gonçalves with the 2018 Ladies Choice Award. Our vision when we began Ladies Choice was to provide an event that empowered women and recognized the leadership of women in our community. Delia has not only supported Unity’s work, but her reporting brings attention to important issues like family homelessness,” stated Vincent A. Keane, President and CEO of Unity.
The event will be held at the Grand Hyatt Washington (1000 H Street NW) on Saturday, May 19th, from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm. It is expected to gather nearly 400 guests with a delicious strolling dinner, wine tastings provided by Rodney Strong Vineyards, a designer marketplace with more than 20 boutique vendors, a fashion show featuring looks by L~Shandi Designs, and guest emceeing by Paul Wharton of Paul Wharton Style. Funds raised at Ladies Choice will support primary care, family planning services, health education, and behavioral health counseling for women who receive care at Unity.
