UNITY HEALTH CARE HOST ITS 12TH ANNUAL CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT

WASHINGTON, DC  – Unity Health Care (Unity) will host its 12th Annual Charity Golf Outing event on Wednesday, September 20th, 2017 at Oak Creek Golf Club in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Proceeds from the tournament will provide medical and supportive services for more than 106,000 residents Unity serves every year.

WHO: The golf event is sponsored by BenComm, Howard University, Kaiser, Verizon and NACHC, among others. This year we are expecting the attendance and participation of 100 players. Last year, 20 teams participated in the tournament, which raised $81,000.

WHAT: Tournament registration will begin at 7:45am with a shotgun start at 9:00am. Following the tournament, an awards and dinner and recognition ceremony will be held. An exciting new element of this year’s golf event is, “Sip & Swing” a winetasting/golf clinic that is focused on engaging those who are not yet golfers.  Registration for “Sip & Swing” is scheduled for 10:00am and will conclude at 2:00pm. The winetasting/golf clinic will include a full hour of basic golf instruction provided by Oak Creek Golf Club's pro golf instructor as well as a social hour and winetasting.

WHERE:  Oak Creek Golf Club in Upper Marlboro, Maryland located at 600 Bowieville Manor Lane. This 18-hole championship course was designed to beckon the experienced and novice golfer alike.

WHEN: Wednesday, September 20th, 2017; 7:30am to 3:30pm
