Class of 2020
Jennifer Anyanwu, DO
I chose Unity Healthcare for its smaller community based program in Washington DC, a city rich in culture, diversity, and its proximity to my family. I also chose this program for its commitment to improving healthcare outcomes in underserved communities, regardless of the ever-changing climate of Medicine. I am particularly interested in working with children and immigrant populations. In my spare time I enjoy reading novels, walks in parks, going to art museums, working out, and brunch.
Vincent Carbone, DO
Chief Resident
I chose Family Medicine because I wanted to have the freedom to do a little bit of everything in my career. Office visits, hospital visits, procedures, deliveries, manipulations--I wanted to specialize in everything while building lifelong relationships with my patients. Unity and The Wright Center really stood out to me in my search for a distinctly osteopathic program focused on the needs of the underserved communities. In my off time, I enjoy visiting the outside world and boosting my vitamin D levels!
Natasha Khawaja, DO
Chief Resident
I came to Unity because I have a strong interest in community based medicine and working towards bridging the healthcare gap for underserved populations. During my downtime, I enjoy listening to podcasts, cooking, people watching, and traveling to experience new places, cultures, and ways of life.
Chukwuka Ojiako, DO
I applied to Unity Health care because of it is a unique teaching health care center serving the nation's capital with interest in underserved communities. Besides work I enjoy spending time with family, watching soccer, tennis and basketball games.
Mark Sears, DO
Family medicine equips me with the ability to handle any problem. Unity is the right environment because I want to help underserved communities. Outside work, I enjoy dog training and playing guitar.
